How much Freeloading is Skype doing on your Network?

We know that Skype is great. We also know that Skype is a peer to peer service. That means it is the users that contribute bandwidth and processor procesing ( rather than central servers) so that Skype can do what it is doing
So presumably, if Skype is running on your computer, and even if you are not using it, you are contributing bandwidth to help route traffic for other users. How much is it using on your network? Will it introduce ‘insecurities’ to your network? More on Computerworld…

Thanks for the heads up on this… I often do a reboot if I’m not going to be in the office the next day - kills the process dead! - I guess I’ll be making a habit of it.
