The Greatest Management Secret in the World

December 18th, 2005 by Administrator

business driven life

Sometimes, you have a once in a bluemoon chance to try to push your viewpoint. Last December 15 was my 40th birthday, and I took the opportunity of their goodwill to send a note to my colleagues in the business about certain management principles I wish they would remember…. Here’s the note, and I look forward to your opinion.

————–

Thanks for all your greetings. I am feeling old,,, and feeling a little bit like an old sage who would now rather talk than run, I am going to share with you freely an advice that I think has been invaluable to my personal and business success. Just take it as my birthday gift to you….

20 years ago, as I was nearing graduation of college, I bought a book entitled the greatest management secret in the world, and was a little bit disappointed at his advice. It was great advice, but hardly rank near as you might call greatest. I am nearing now 40, and about 25 years of my life, I have been observing, reading, thinking about a lot of things in my own long and ardous journey in what you call life and business, and this is one advice that I hope you will think long and hard, and ponder on it, as understanding this principle have been invaluable to contribute much to my own happiness ( and therefore success) , which we agree is the ultimate goal in life. Do not let its simplicity misguide you, because though the principle may sound simple, it actually is a result of thousands of hours of distilled observation that leads to this impeccable conclusion.

This principle, you might call scientific, as it is culled from long observation which I have painstakingly jot down as it occured. I have been surprised I don’t read it much and that almost no management or so called how to be successful book talked about this. However in almost all
instances, i have recorded that it is almost unfailingly accurate and therefore would rank as a fail safe formula that you can use in your own life to attain that elusive goal called happiness. So here it is….

In my 13 years of married life, I have noticed unfailingly, that is 99% easier for me to get peace and happiness if my wife was also happy, and therefore this principle, by inescapable and unmistakeable logic, has to be this great secret of life which is — that the best way for you to make yourself happy is to devote yourself to making sure that your boss is happy first…” ;-)

You all have a nice day.
