iIn most places you look you can now find good branded noteboks for less than a thousand dollars. yet tablet PCs continue to be out of reach. i may be willing to pay for an extra hundred or two hundred dollars for the same PC getting tablet capabilities but not much more. Maybe when the premium gets less, more wil opt for one.Hopefuly the manufacturers will see an opportunity here.

Hiring Good People

I reviewed our company, and feel that one of the things we are not doing so well is hiring great people. There was a time that I would talk and interview most people and after hiring them, know them my name, and mentor many of them. So I try to get the best, and spend time trying to insure their growth.

Now, most interviews are conducted by our managers, and I feel that they could have hired better people. Maybe I need to spend more time in this area. Maybe they try their best to hire people who are no better than them, and of course, maybe they don’t spend as much time bringing or mentoring people. This is an area I will have to look into more seriously.

IPods and cell phones

Is IPod going to die because cell phones will soon have music playing capability?

My take. Maybe cell phones will add music capability. Or maybe Apple will make an IPOD that can also be a cell phone. Or maybe cell phones will add music capability by licensing Apple’s software- as did Motorola. Which has more prospects for growth - Microsoft, Apple, or Nokia? Still anybody’s game, I would say.

Show Graphically what will Happen

Sometimes, the best way to show people and convince them to change is to enable them to visualize what will happen to them. If I remember right, in the famous classic, a Christmas Carol, Mr. Scrooge finally changed his way when the ghost of tomorrow showed him what will happen to him in the future if he persisted in his ways.

A good way to have people quit smoking is to show them graphically how dirty and messy are smoker’s lungs. According to the blog, That Health Rules, a similar technique is being used in the Learning Channel. The series, Honey We’re Killing the Kids, uses state-of-the-art computer imaging intended for the parents to show them and the kids how they will look like at the age of 40 if they don’t start making diet and lifestyle changes now.

Best legacy you can give to your child is to give them good education and health lifestyle habits!

Post Through Email

I am trying a new tack to increase my post - I will try the feature which allows me to post by email. I started to blog because if I don’t put the words into paper, you will lose many of the good readings, sayings, thoughts or learning forever. So I started to jot down great ideas as it occur into my PDA and when I have time, I would put it down into proper writing into the blog. I just reviewed my PDA and found out that I have a few dozen ideas that never got to the blog. Maybe when you’re busy , it is good to make a note of what you want to do it later, but if it is not going to cost much time, it would even be better to just do it.

One of the things a busy person probably never gets around is to do all the things he made a note to do. Maybe there is wisdom in Nike when it says Just Do It.

So, might as well post it the moment the thought occurs to me. YOu will see many more rough ideas and observations hopefully if this works. After all, a blog is not just putting up a well polished thought or article, but more putting your daily reminisces as a way of sharing.
