A Pew survey of 233 bloggers turned up the following interesting statistics:
12 million Americans now keep blogs, and 57 million read them. Over 54 percent of bloggers are under 30, and 37 percent of bloggers cited their life and experiences as their primary topic, with 61 percent not bothering to get permission to use copyrighted materials. 55 percent also write under a pseudonym. I missed this earlier — this is a Grant Thornton Report survey of 7,000 international business owners in 30 countries that was conducted 4th quarter of 2005 and released first quarter 2006. Some significant findings — 57% of business owners reported higher stress, while only 6% said it went down. Significant is most stress levels went up in Southeast Asia, and stress there is remarkably higher than in the US and Europe. One of the things concluded is that this is because of lower holiday availment. Does additional holiday mean less stress? Here is the complete report.
