I was reviewing my notes, and noted a previous speech about Warren Buffet’s advice to students in the Tuck School of Business in Dartmouth last year. Warren Buffet just donated over 30 billion of his wealth to philanthropy a few weeks ago.
Here are some takes:
- Who are the people you want to do business with? Who you DON’T want to do business with? Evidently the people you want to be with is probably someone who is honest, courageous and dependable; the person you don’t want to be with are those that are egotistical and likes to take credit. The point is that thse are ELECTIVE qualities, not anything you were born with. You CAN choose to be dependable or not.

For the longest time, I focused our company’s goal that we were going to hire smart people, smart people who are quick to make decisions, and who are eloquent to verbalize such. A readers opinion by Point Roberts of Washington in a recent Fortune magazine issue gives pause for reflection.
There IS a difference between being smart and wise, and as he pointed out, wisdom is now being replaced by smartness in the corporate Read the rest of this entry »

When you want to make people buy your products, here is a basic Marketing dictum you should always remember:
People don’t believe what you tell them.
They rarely believe what you show them.
They often believe what their friends tell them.
They always believe what they tell themselves.
It is always better they hear a good word from their friends about you, and it is even better if when using your products, they convinced themselves about your product!

I first get acquainted with Seth Godin when he launched a free ebook called the IdeaVirus, which has since been read by millions of people. He is consistently rated as one of the best speakers in the marketing field, and has written 6 bestsellers. His blog is also always an inspiration with original ideas, and he was called as the “Ultimate Entrepreneur of the information Age” by Business Week.
Reading about him, is never as good as listening to him, and I found this video where he delivered a talk in Google about his latest bestseller “All Marketers are Liars”.

Aren’t you sick and tired of being sick and tired.
Here’s another great quote, ” Note that education is a private matter between the individual and the world of knowledge, and may have little to do with school or college. ”
“If things are to be changed, you have to change.”
