We have a problem.
We lack clarity of ownership and accountability. The most painful manifestation of this is the
massive redundancy that exists throughout the organization. We now operate in an organizational structure — admittedly created with the best of intentions –that has become overly bureaucratic. For far too many employees, there is another person with dramatically similar and overlapping responsibilities. This slows us down and burdens the company with unnecessary costs.
We lack decisiveness. Combine a lack of focus with unclear ownership, and the result is that decisions are either not made or are made when it is already too late.
We have lost our passion to win. Far too many employees are “phoning” it in, lacking the passion and commitment to be a part of the solution. We sit idly by while — at all levels — employees are enabled to “hang around”. Where is the accountability?
Does this sound familiar? This was written by Brad Garlinghouse, a Yahoo senior vice president, says Yahoo is spreading its resources too thinly, like peanut butter on a slice
of bread. check out here for the complete manifesto.

Seth has always been an inspiration. People are more cynical nowadays and unless you really know how to emphathize, this will not work. In short, it is a good idea, but you have to execute it properly.
Seth’s Blog: This must be hard
If you really want to generate those referrals, don’t ask for a referral, ask if everything was great. Offer to help. Do it in a gentle way, with no strings, no additional addons, no sales pitch. If you really and truly care, why not ask?

Paul Allen (the lesser) » Don’t Build a Website Without Wireframing
My subject today is how to correctly mockup or prototype a web site before sending it to the development team for coding and design.
Two of my closest friends who are also parallel entrepreneurs do very detailed mockups using Powerpoint or Word to design exactly what the pages should look like before sending them on to development. They save thousands of dollars every time they get a web site built, because they do a lot of the upfront design work.

when quantity is not quality.
China MBAs: Most Likely To Fall Short
No doubt about it, the Masters of Business Administration degree is a hot commodity in China. Fifteen years ago, then-paramount leader Deng Xiaoping oversaw the creation of China’s first nine MBA programs. Today 230 programs graduate some 20,000 students a year.
Unfortunately, quantity and quality do not go hand in hand. Despite the explosion in Chinese B-schools, most corporate recruiters give graduates middling to poor marks, according to a BusinessWeek survey of 173 corporate recruiters at both Chinese and multinational companies with operations on the mainland.

The CEO is responsible for the company, and you really want to make sure he is healthy — that is , clean of hubris. Here is a good article on what maladies hits CEOs and how to prevent/treat them.
Chief Executive Group, CEO | Articles | 12 CEO Diseases and How to Treat Them.
I was running a firm doing M&A for medium-sized companies, I saw over 12 years perhaps 15,000 companies whose CEOs either wanted a valuation or decided to sell. I was like a doctor examining a very large number of particular patients: One comes to recognize the symptoms of their special diseases and comes to learn how best to treat them.
