Let’s Take a Bath!

This morning, I was asking my six year old son to rush.  I was going to the office, and he needed to go with me.  I wanted to make sure that he wouldn’t take more than 20 minutes to bathe and change, when I suddenly had an idea.

“Myles, do you want to take a bath with daddy?”, I asked.

“Yes, Dad!”, his eyes lighted up.

When he was three and four years old, we usually bathe together. It was something obviously he enjoyed, but for the last two years i have not found time to do it.

In a few minutes both of us were in our jockeys, and under the shower.  We sprayed water at each other, and had a good laugh.

Fifteen minutes later, we were in the car, and my son was in high spirits. Obviously he enjoyed every moment with his dad, and his conversation during the trip was more animated.  On that moment, it seemed we were that much closer.

Try to find time with your kids.  It will be worth it!  When they have grown up, you would have wished that you spend more time enjoying together.  These will not only create happy memories, but will bond you together so that he will more likely share his problems and challenges when he gets older.

I was discussing a topic about entrepreneurship in my class, and everybody sort of get excited, and when you show them some principles that makes them feel they understand the subject better — they are now ready to take the plunge.  Should I push them?  Or should I caution them?

Most of the first few chapters of entrepreneur books, or self-help/motivational books talk a lot about getting out of the fear of failure, and moreover the importance of failing and learning from it.

There is something deep in teaching that, but I always believe Read the rest of this entry »
