Rest Stops

Last month, while we were driving around in the United States highways, my kids were enthralled with the rest stops that were available every few miles.  They  would rattle off what restaurants, and amenities are available, and would try to convince me to make a stop every so often so that we could get at ice cream or their favorite fast food, or to go to the rest room.

It is important to make good time in driving, and also important that you make stops to rest and stretch.  But make too many stops, and you would be left behind.

Ditto in the real world.  I remember an apt quote which says, " The road to success is dotted with many convenient parking places."

These parking places allow you to charge up and recuperate, but so often in our own longer journey in life, the danger of these parking places is that it allows people to fall on the wayside — they park, and never get on the road again, and thus lose their plans to reach their destination — then and ever.

Rest stops are good, but let us not make a permanent detour!  Did you?
