I actually forgot what was the exact quote.  But when I read this story of Anita, although she was trying to establish something else, it occured to me that sometimes we may unknowingly, and without malice, cause a lot of misery, or trouble to some people without knowing it.

Especially as I go higher into the organization, and is in a positin to establish policies or make decisions without having time to talk to all people concerned, it sometimes occured to me that a well intentioned joke or business ecision can affect other people without us knowing it.

A young woman comes to see the company HR Manager because she has received a message from a “Secret Admirer” on the company email system. Most of the message was innocuous, but it concluded by saying, ”I’ve been watching you.”
It turns out that the young woman’s sister had been stalked by “an
admirer” and murdered.   So, receiving a message by a secret admirer
who claimed to be watching her was taken as a major threat.  Could you
blame her for reacting strongly?
