How do we make decisions?

My kid used to play golf in grade school. And he was good.

Lately he has taken into soccer and basketball both of which he may never excel. But all his friends are into it and he enjoys being with his friends.

The fortunate person is one who enjoys in what he excels.

But when we are not so fortunate how do we make decisions? Do we go things that we have a chance to excel or simply indulge in what we like ?

Brisk walking

I have always noted that one of the best exercises was supposedly brisk walking. Walk faster to encourage your heart beat to exercise your coronary muscles.

Apparently studies shows that we are leading frenzied lives. A study of 32 countries show that people in general are walking at least 10 percent faster compared to 15 years ago and most countries whose population walked faster also have higher rates of coronary disease.

However, I do believe that there is a difference.  Walk faster to get a better heart workout.  But if you are walking faster, and you are stressed and because you are in a rush, yes, that is not healthy at all!

Great Pictures, Outstanding Prose

I have had recent friends who took up photography, and one of them was my brother in law who is a doctor.  He travels to various countries regularly, and he has a good eye for details, as well as the talent for great prose.  In three months, 12 of his pictures received special feature citations. 

It is seldom that you see picture slides that not only pleases the senses, but also challenges the mind.  Check out Gerry Tan’s picture collection.

Using Facebook

I recently started to probe around Facebook, and for so many days, I did not quite know what to do …. and made only a handful of friends.

Then my brother taught me how I could , in one stroke, upload the email addresses in my contact list, and it would automatically send invitations to those that are also registered in Facebook.

In a few hours, I have dozen of friends.

It occured to me that I was using an obscure email address ( I was afraid I would be spammed) to register.  That being said, I would probably not be visible to my friends.

If you want your friends to see you ( they probably use Facebook to automatically look at their contact list), then use your official email!
