An interesting nice set of photos on how your choice of software and hardware defines you…. I remembered earlier a set also of how some people try to characterize or stereotype you based on the cell phone you carry.
Its interesting, but don’t believe on it too much…

This is an interesting set of figures that shows the differences of Chinese and German culture.
Some are true … like Chinese tend to sidestep problems. Chinese are more social, and more flexible on time. That their network is more complex,
some not so… like the Chinese do not observe queue etiquette or that they lack confidence or belittle themselves. I am not sure whether the amount of chatter or noise in a Chinese meeting is higher than the German, but maybe so.
Some funny observations like the predominance of people in sunday shopping, or how chinese aggregate in parties vs.the Germans, or that while in the 1970s, the Germans ride on cars while the Chinese ride on bicycles, now in the 2000s, the Germans ride bicycles, while the Chinese ride cars.

I was given by a friend an old Video disc which contains a .DAT file, and he wanted it to be posted in the website. Since many programs were not supporting .DAT, I had to convert it to .WMV file. To my chagrin, most of the utilities that do video conversions have to be paid, or at most, they limit conversions to a few minutes.
While the Windows Media Player played the .DAT file ( after some tinkering),I could not find a viable way to convert without spending some money.
Later on, I found out that I could indeed import it to Windows Movie Maker. While it does not accept .DAT extension, I could do it simply by renaming the .DAT file into one with .MPG extension and have it imported there.
If Windows Movie Maker could solve such an issue ( and I’m sure many have similar issues especially in Asia), why not make it easier for the user to find out?
