2 Lessons in Making Effective Presentations

For the last 5 days, I have been listening to my 2 kids  ( one is 14 and one is 12) as they rehearse their business presentations.  I am proud that both were chosen to be the presentor in behalf of their class as they talked about what their class did in their entrepreneur project.  I tried to give them some tips on how to do it, and today, both of them made their presentations and garnered really great reviews. 

There were two things that I asked them not to do which they did, and overall, i think it was not a bad idea.

1. Don’t try to Show all.  Leave some of your Goodies for the Q&A.

In order to explain the business that they were doing, it was necessary for them to show some of the aspects in the website, and in order to validate the budget, it was necessary also for them to show the schematics of a stall that they were doing. Read the rest of this entry »
