Many times, we are not only responsible in the business to ourselves, but to other people.
YOu may have business partners in the business, or you may have a board that you report to. Many of us have direct reports or bosses.
Many times, CEOs may lose their jobs, or partnerships create conflicts, or employees get the wrong end of the boot, because of something very simple - lack of communication.
We may think that we are doing many things, and in the course of our busyness, we forget to update our partners, or our board or our boss what is happening to the business or to us.
Well, the bad side is that if you are not updating them, somebody else will.
In the absence of acurate reports from you, they will develop their own perceptions and start creating their own stories. Then they will make their decisions —and sometimes it will end up not being on your side.
Especially when things are going south, or not doing well, communciation should increase. Even if you think you’re doing enough, you’re not doing enough. …
Think about it, and start communciating! Verbal or written is fine. Get them on your side, by informing them what is happening on your side.

I was just reading this morning about what happened to some of the
actors in the 70s and 80s popular TV series, "Diff'rent strokes".
It was unfortunate to note that Gary Coleman, that lovable kid has
been having a lot of problems with his life. I was also sad to note
that Dana Plato, who played the lovable Kimberly Drummond in the
sitcom, has passed away at the age of 35 in 1999 due to probable
overdose of drugs.
It is important that we play to succeed, but it is important also to
equip ourselves to be worthy of that success. As they say, sometimes,
it is important that success does not come too fast, because the
skills you get working towards success will also be essential in
keeping you there.

The redesign of the bizdrivenlife blog continues…
Hopefully, it is easier to get to know me, and the various things I write and update, including my social network contacts.
In the right side, the sidebar is also simplified. I have also enabled writing by email, and also will now be able to comment directly the feeds that I read, and then put my comments into the blog.
Looking forward to be more active, and writing about more relevant things.
