There are millions of Project management software sold worldwide. Unfortunately, as Microsoft Word will not make you a writer, so do software alone will not make you a project manager. The power of such software can only be released with the proper knowledge and appreciation of what its functions are all about, and how they are to be combined to manage effective projects.
If there is a sobering fact, it is that there are more failed projects than successful ones. As quoted, the Standish group believes that of $250 billion spent in software development in the United States, only 17 percent of projects meet their original targets. Of course, it will always be the expectation that we will not be part of such statistic. After all, on the same token that there are record marriages as the divorce rate keeps going up, it is expected that more and more projects will be attempted in the coming years.
