CEBU CITY, PHILIPPINES, February 1, 2010. Ng Khai Development Corporation, an HP Premier Partner and a solutions integrator in Southern Philippines, recently conducted a free seminar and learning session for select clients to learn about HP’s new rPOS (Retail POS Systems and Digital Signage. The event was held last Friday, January 29, 2010 at the Ballroom 3, Cebu City Marriott Hotel.

The POS systems uses the same open standards hardware platform and components of PCs but was specifically configured and hardened to meet the demands of a retail environment. There are two variants: the HP rp3000 and HP rp5700. They look similar and share the same accessories such as 15″ touch screen monitors, bar code scanners, cash drawers, pole display and others. They differ in processor configurations, and expansion options, as well as support. Bernard Chua talked that although the solution just recently launched in Asia, HP has had success with the solution in the US and is fully committed to carving out a niche in the retail market in the Philippines as well. Leonard Zapa discussed the advantages of having a digital signage in today’s market.
Esprint software’s Product Manager , Renerio Baya made a demo discussion on POS and Retail Management solution that tuns on HP’s retail POS systems. The sofware is called PASTEL. This software platform can integrate to offer users with a completely turn-key, integrated software system to manage a retail business.
