Do you watch Numb3rs? For the last two days, i was able to have a time to watch the TV show season series where the two main characters are a FBI agent (Don Eppes) and his younger brother (Charlie), a very clever mathematician. The show is based on the idea that crimes can be solved with numbers. In each episode, Charlie uses different mathematic techniques to find information regarding some crime scene. One of which is how they solved the crime in phishing.
"Phishing is an electronic way for scam artists to steal your identity and your money. If you’ve got a computer and/or an e-mail account, you’re a potential target. Please be aware of at least two attempts to get at your information. Some phishing e-mails threaten a dire consequence if you don’t respond. The messages direct you to a Web site that looks just like a legitimate organization’s site. But it isn’t. It’s a bogus site whose sole purpose is to trick you into divulging your personal information so the operators can steal your identity and run up bills or commit crimes in your name.”

Is Microsoft negotiating to buy Yahoo? How big a competitive threat is Google? What is the biggest threat to IT at this point? These were all questions that Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer and Cisco CEO John Chambers fielded in a lengthy debate they had in New York on August 20 about working more closely together on interoperability. When asked by moderator Charlie Rose why Microsoft had not bought Yahoo, Ballmer quickly corrected him by saying "Why don’t we buy Yahoo," before going on to say that Yahoo was an independent company with its own vision.Platform Dive.

Children using computers with WiFi connections should be monitored until more research into the possible health risks is carried out as advised by Professor Lawrie Challis.
“With a desktop computer, the transmitter will be in the tower. This might be perhaps 20cms from your leg and the exposure would then be around one per cent of that from a mobile phone. However, if you put a laptop straight on your lap and are using wi-fi, you could be around two centimetres from the transmitter, and receiving comparable exposure to that from a mobile phone.” More
Is this true or not?

Life at Google - The Microsoftie Perspective. The following has been making the rounds on just about every internal email list I belong to in Microsoft. Here it is to share a little insight with the rest of the world. "Microsoft is an amazingly transparent company. Google is not. Any peek is a good peek. Google has no facility for career growth. Microsoft has more, but could do better. Continuing Microsoft-specific education for things like project management, managing people, communication skills, etc. should be promoted." More..
