Lenovo announced the IdeaPad S10-2 netbook to give online enthusiasts, social networkers and mobile consumers the latest in connectivity, entertainment and performance features to keep them better connected and enjoying their computing experience anytime, anywhere.

The second generation Lenovo S10 looks great, with a cleaner and smoother appearance all around. In the redesign, the sides changed from flat surfaces that looked stuck onto the chassis, to a rounder and smoother form that looks integrated into the netbook. As a result, the new S10 is thinner in most dimensions, with varying heights depending on the inner structure of the notebook.

According to Digitimes, Lenovo is preparing a 12-inch netbook around an Intel Atom N280 processor and GN40 chipset.

Apparently called the IdeaPad S20, the device will cost about $580 and its 12-inch screen will be bigger than Intel likes. Chipzilla will have to like it or lump it… or not flog Lenovo any more Atoms.

Digitimes says the device is reportedly on the cards but fails to state where it was reported. It also quotes sources it won’t identify, so you never know. Read more >>
