Ng Khai recently received a Value Award for Outstanding Sales Contribution given by IBM Philippines.  The award was held at the Manila Peninsula Hotel, Makati City last February 11, 2010 during the IBM Business Partner Conference.

CEBU  CITY, PHILIPPINES, February 1, 2010. Ng Khai Development Corporation, an HP Premier Partner and a solutions integrator in Southern Philippines, recently conducted a free seminar and learning session for select clients to learn about HP’s new rPOS (Retail POS Systems and  Digital Signage. The event was held last Friday, January 29, 2010 at the Ballroom 3, Cebu City Marriott Hotel.

The POS systems uses the same open standards hardware platform and components of PCs but was specifically configured and hardened to meet the demands of a retail environment. There are two variants: the HP rp3000 and HP rp5700. They look similar and share the same accessories such as 15″ touch screen monitors, bar code scanners, cash drawers, pole display and others. They differ in processor configurations, and expansion options, as well as support. Bernard Chua  talked that although the solution just recently launched in Asia, HP has had success with the solution in the US and is fully committed to carving out a niche in the retail market in the Philippines as well.  Leonard Zapa discussed the advantages of having a digital signage in today’s market.

Esprint software’s Product Manager , Renerio Baya made a demo discussion on POS and Retail Management solution that tuns on HP’s retail POS systems. The sofware is called PASTEL.  This software platform can integrate to offer users with a completely turn-key, integrated software system to manage a retail business.

Passionata Reprise Grand finale
Again, after the success of the first performance of the Passionata, more than 1800 audience attended on the three shows during its  repeat performance  held at the Cinema 1 of SM City Cebu last January 16. The celebration is in honor of Sto. Niño as part of the celebration of the Sinulog. The crowd made a standing ovation the the finale part.

It was such a stunning performance made by Cebuano artists composed of the Asian Troubadours, Cebu Chamber Singers, Mandaue Children’s Choir under Maestro Dennis Sugarol. Dances were interpreted by the Mandaue Children’s Choir under Nino Matillano and the Knapsack Dancers under the choreography of Miss Cinbeth Orellano.

Included in the crowd were over 80 Balikbayans, including official visitors of Cebu City from Yeosu Korea, Belgium, and the Visayan Society of Las Vegas Nevada. Spotted on the show were also prominent businessmen, and also acclaimed Visayan performer Raki Vega, as well as the five winners of the Miss Cebu 2010 contest. The audience showed particularly the largest applause for the last three numbers – Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus, Beethoven’s Ode to Joy, and Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana o Fortuna as well as Mandaue Children’s Choir performance of Sinulog.

Ng Khai had a successful 16 years celebration through a concert dubbed as Passionata: A Cultural Heritage Celebration showcasing Cebuano and Filipino talents.  The event gathered more than 2150 people last November 30 at the Cinema 1, SM City Cebu with 3 performances at 2pm, 4pm and 8pm featuring Asian Troubadours, Cebu Chamber Singers and the Mandaue Children’s Choir. It was a concert like no other. The concert presented not only 11 songs of Filipino, but also 11 songs of other different countries, making it truly a learning and a cultural heritage experience.
