Philippine Science High School In Argao

The progressive town of Argao in southeastern Cebu will soon have its own science high school. Being the premier municipality in the second dsitrict, Argao is the largest among 15 towns in the district in terms of population and probably having the largest population of school-aged children.

Rep. Simeon Kintanar of the 2nd district made the disclosure in a dinner during the double fiesta celebration of Argao and Samboan Wednesday night. He further said, that the examination for prospective applicants is scheduled to take place on October 15, 2005.

Boljoon Volleybelles Beat Oslob

The road to victory is not easy and to savour it is overwhelming.

That was what Boljoon spikers exactly found last Sunday when they clobbered the tenacious Oslob team to snare the Cluster II crown in the Governor Gwen Garcia Volleyball Unity Cup at the Alcoy Sports Center.

The Boljoon lady spikers, who were mostly not as tall as their rivals, were in trouble in the first set as they succumbed to a 20-25 loss against the Oslob players.

The second set saw a much different scene for Boljoon team as they mounted a valiant rally, courtesy of the intense offense of Michelle Matuguina to pull off a 25-17 victory on their way to a deciding match. Matuguina, incidentally, is also the team captain of the San Jose-Recoletos team, the reigning CESAFI volleyball champion.
