It’s funny how in a globalized world, there are still some countries out of the 91 AIESEC countries in the world that has never met a Filipino. And it is always a life-changing experience for the Pinoy AIESEC trainee who goes there. More often than not it is a far more exciting than the experiences of trainees who go to North America, Western Europe, etc.
Imagine they have no idea where the Philippines is or they just know the CNN version. Or worse…
…Mexican AIESECer went to the Philippines because she thought our wonderful beaches are 10 minutes away from the city where she works. (It took a while for her to get to Boracay)
…Eastern European guy said, “aren’t you from the Spanish Speaking Growth Network” (as in: isn’t Philippines from South America? Asked of my mestiza friend)
