Chief Justice Davide Starts His Private Life Today
Monday, December 19th, 2005
A very private person’s greatest dream who works in a public office is to escape from the limelight. Today, this dream would come true to the very private Chief Justice Hilario Davide, a pride of Cebu , who is set to retire today from public office he has learned to love for years.
President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo cited him for his role in the ouster of former president Joseph Estrada and his part in Philippine history. “We share the public’s recognition and high regard for him for setting the standard for the judiciary as an exemplar of upright conduct in clear view of everyone, and profound wisdom that touches all, rich or poor, young or old.”
In the beginning, there was a vision. Then the vision crumbled. Later, it reappears. And now, it looms closer to reality.
