Christmas in Brgy. Guadalupe

A lot of you might wonder how Christmas in Barangay Guadalupe looks like. I’ve got an answer for that! During Christmas time streets and residences along the barangay, that includes V. Rama Avenue and Guadalupe Street are filled with lights and Christmas decors to celebrate the spirit of Christmas. The barangay has organized an annual competition to who has the best decors, where judging and awarding are held usually in the New Year’s eve.

The ‘Belen’ is a common Cebuano theme as a Christmas decor where a little child Jesus in a manger with Joseph and Mary of course and may also include the three kings. Other common themes include Santa Claus and little angels attending the birth of Jesus in a manger. All these adorn the homes and buildings along the streets of barangay Guadalupe that transform into a magnificent spectacle after dark where bright Christmas lights flicker in upbeat tempo.

I have taken some good pictures and I post one here (see photo above) as a sampler to give you an idea how does it look like. Before I know it, you rev up your car and head towards Guadalupe cruising along V. Rama Avenue where most of this spectacle is sighted.

Guadalupe - the place to be for lavish display of Christmas ornaments and trimmings! Where the extravagant Christmas spirit lives on!
