Wednesday, February 15th, 2006
Cebuanos will get to witness again the annual National Horseshow and Competition which is a unique event featuring the country’s finest horse breeds in a show dubbed “Kabayo Festival”.
Mandaue City will get the privilege to host this year’s event which will be held on Feb. 25 and 26, 2006 at the Cebu Boardwalk in Mandaue South Reclamation Area. The 2-day event will gather the top equestrians and horse enthusiasts alike from top equine clubs in the country that include Dacao Horse Club of Ormoc, Horsemen’s Association, Malaybalay Horsemen Association, Impasug-ong Horsemen’s Association, Southern Mindanao Horsemen’s Federation, Cagayan de Oro Horsemen’s Association and the Tagaytay Highlands Horsemen’s Association.
Most Cebuanos are already at home with Western food such as the ubiquitous hamburger in many fastfood chains and a slew of European restaurants that help make European foods popular. There are those who can’t live a week without downing a bowl of hot congee in a multitude of Chinese restaurants. Many of us are no strangers anymore to a lot of Japanese food and who hasn’t tried the most popular sushi or sashimi? Korean and Thai cuisines are now beginning to take roots also in Cebuanos’ gastronomic culture.
