Cebu, Dream Destination for Japanese Travelers?
Thursday, February 23rd, 2006Japan is one of the world’s biggest sources for outbound tourists. Japanese tourists travel overseas mostly for fun and leisure. Most of them stay in their host country longer than most other tourists although they are not among the biggest spenders. However, they are also the most generous in terms of giving tips for services well-rendered. Their most preferred destinations are Australia and Hawaii.
But why not so many Japanese tourists come to the Philippines, particularly Cebu, when it is nearer than any other popular destinations in the Asia Pacific region? Will Cebu remain to be just another island in the Pacific unpopular to mass tourism?
