Cebu International Furniture and Furnishings Exhibition, popularly known as Cebu X, is a must-see furniture event in Asia held annually at the Cebu International Convention Center, Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino in Lahug this city

Cebu X 2006 is a prestigious furniture event which showcases the Philippines’ modern, contemporary, classical & traditional furniture & furnishings. Considered as the grandest and premier furniture event in Asia, the four-day event has attracted, as of the opening day, more than 505 pre-registered buyers from 62 countries — an attendance double that of last year. But a lot of walk-in buyers are also expected to visit the show which will run until March 1, 2006.

Exhibitors from as far north as Pampanga and as far south as Davao have come to participate in the annual furniture event with optimism hoping that the show would not only generate more sales but also more buyers from countries where Philippine-made furniture is still not popular such as in Western Europe. One official from the organizer of the event disclosed that the United States is still the country’s top export market accounting 68% of the total export sales.

A total of 109 exhibitors from Cebu, Manila, Bulacan, Pampanga, Bacolod, Iloilo and Davao participated in the four-day furniture event which does not only serve as venue for small- and medium-scaled businesses to promote their products to the international market but also showcases the Philippines’ culture, craftsmanship, creativity and ingenuity.
