Colon: The Oldest Street in the Philippines

Colon Street in Cebu City is the oldest street in the Philippines. The street was named after Cristobal Colon (Christopher Columbus) by the Spanish authorities to honor the great Genoese explorer and trader who discovered America in 1492.

Colon Street was once the city’s premier business district but the proliferation of malls all over the metro has somehow stripped its prominence that it enjoyed for centuries. More…

USC Marks 411th Foundation Week

The University of San Carlos (USC) will mark its 411th Foundation Week from August 19 to August 26.

Dubbed “Living the Word, Shaping the World,” the celebration will kick off with the launching of the USC website at the SM City Cebu Trade Hall, followed by the alumni congress on basic education in the afternoon and a dinner for a cause in the evening. More…
