The Cebu Chamber of Commerce continues its advocacy of health and wellness as it launches teh biggest an dmost sensational Beauty Health and Wellness Extravaganza of the year.  The Press Conference is scheduled on August 23, 2006 at the Cebu Park Lane Hotel at 3:00 p.m.  The theme is “Now Cebu!”, and it is meant to promote Cebu as the emerging Nirvana of Wellness owing to the fast growing industry in the Island.  The three day event will formally be held at SM City Cebu Trade Hall on Sept 22 to 24.

A superscale residential subdivision will rise in Punta Engano, Mactan, in the next two years, when Sta. Lucia Realty and evelopment will develop a P5 billion resrot village.  The resort is 13 hectares and called Discovery Bay Resort and Residences, and it will offer a total fo 205 residentail and 10 commercial lots which is expected in the next two years.  Two 10 story Club towers for condominium will also be built.

the University of San Carlos, Cebu’s oldest university is honoring 11 of its renowed alumni member siwth the most outstanding alumni award 2006 on its 52nd Grand Alumni Homecoming at the USC Talamban Campus on august 20.

The awardees are: Tangub City Mayor Jennifer Tan for PUblic Service; Justice saias Dicdican for Justice Administration; Judge Simeon Dumdum for Justice Administration; engr Jose Bigornia for ICT; Arch Omar Espina, for Architecture; Engr Antonio Tompar for environmental management; Marilyn Tiu for pharmaceutical education; Dr. Tumapon for Educational Management; Mrs. Banaag for Entrepeneurship; Dr. Art Mancao for Medicine; and Director Ma. Morados for Science and Technology.

Major tourism sector groups in Cebu have agreed on the creation of an
umbrella group to serve as a policy making body, or a voice of the
tourism industry in Cebu.

During a recent meeting spearheaded by the Cebu Chamber of
Commerce and Industry (CCCI) Tourism committee headed by Mila Espina,
major tourism industry groups were represented and subsequently agreed
to form a united tourism industry group in Cebu.  More …
