The Alumni Association of the Asian Institute of Management Cebu Chapter is holding a Business Competitiveness and Leadership Forum at the Park lane Hotel this coming September 1

Speakers, management and economic gurus from the prestigious school will discuss insights ranging from the ASEAN perspective to the family business.  AIM President Francis estrada and renowed AIM Professors Titong Gavino and Henry Tenedero will speak during the forum.

Search for Miss Cebu on

The search for the next Miss Cebu is on, and the Cebu City Tourism Commission has recently released the guideline:

- must be single from 18 to 25 years of age
- with pleasing personality and a minimum height of 5 feet 3 inches
- of good moral character
- at least a graduate in high school, and articulate in english
- resident of Cebu for not less than a year
- willing to travel for a full term of one year
- must be a Filipino citizen
- must not, during teh duration of the pageant, be a participant of another beauty search.

Entry forms are available at the Cebu City Tourism Commission , 2nd floor, Rizal Memorial Library and Museum, Osmena Blvd. or at Piere Angeli Boutique, F. Ramos ( c/o Philip Rodriguez, Project Chairman). and at the various student affairs office of different schools and universities.

The deadline of entries is on Sept 1, 2006 and the finalists will be announce by mid-October.  The winner gets a trip to US or Europe with more than P100,000 worth of prizes in cash and in kind.  Great chances for travel for the five finalists will also be in the offing.

Cebu Nominee of 2006 Presidential Awards

The city of Cebu is being nominated for the 2006 Presidential Awards for the Most Child-Friendly city in the Philippines in a highly urbanized city and component city category.

The award was meant to institutionalize the child friendly governance and environment and to recognize cities and municipalities whose governance is child friendly.  The award was created on Nov 13, 1999 under executive order no. 184.
