RP retailers form Cebu group

    The Philippine Retailers Association (PRA) has expanded its membership and made Cebu its first provincial chapter in recognition of the provinces vibrant retail sector.

Membership is vital because it will move the wheels of retailing in our area, Jorge Mendiola, PRA president, said during his keynote speech last Saturday when PRA had its first general membership meeting at the Parklane Hotel, Cebu City.

Mendiola, who is also senior vice president of operations for Shoemart Inc., said the PRA has always wanted to expand its coverage to other major cities in the country, especially in Cebu, which he described as like a melting pot for producing some of the countrys successful retailers. Firm expands Cebu unit

    A GLOBAL outsourcing and consulting firm has expanded its Cebu operations to include customer contact center services.

The customer contact center service arm of Accenture, a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company, in Cebu can accommodate up to 500 employees.

The customer contact center service is part of Accenture’s expansion plans in Cebu, said Pankaj Vaish, managing director of the company’s delivery center network for business process outsourcing. Continue…
