City joins CBM 2008 with Colon festival

    THE Cebu City Government, together with the private sector, has intensified its efforts to revitalize the downtown area through a project that aims to promote and revive the “old glory” of Colon Street.

Although it is already on its third year, it is only now that the Downtown Revitalization Project, spearheaded by the office of Cebu City Vice Mayor Michael Rama, is made of the Cebu Business Month (CBM), which is slated to open on Friday. Continue…

Blackpool dance festival Cebu bets rake in four golds

    Cebu City once again floated in the international map of dancesport after it garnered four golds in the Blackpool Dance Festival recently in Blackpool, England.

Victoria Alix and Renante Saldua snatched two golds via the senior pre-championship and the four-dance battle, according to Team Cebu City-Dancesport publicist April Tudtud-Ramos. More…

Jathropa project site opened in Medellin

    The initiative to make Cebu a green fuel producing province yesterday took a step forward as national and local stakeholders implemented the first 100-hectare jathropa curcas plantation.

Philippine National Oil Company - Alternative Fuel Corporation president and chief executive officer Peter Abaya and Cebu 4th district Rep. Benhur Salimbangon led the inauguration of the project starting at the 2.5 hectare intensive nursery site in barangay Kawit, Medellin town, owned by the Jose Ancajas Agricultural Corporation.

Abaya said PNOC will finance everything from jathropa seeds, other planting materials, technical assistance as well as payment of labor for the first 100 hectare cultivation.
