June Cebu expo to spotlight ‘green’ business

GREEN entrepreneurs will share the spotlight at the Cebu Business Month (CBM) celebration in June, as organizer Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry adopts a more active stance in the promotion of sustainable business practices.

One of the highlight events of the CBM to be introduced this year will be the Go Green Expo at the Cebu International Convention Center from June 22 to 24. A wide array of eco-friendly products, services and technologies will be on display in one hall for three days.

“More than a trade show, the Green Expo will also hold plenary and breakout sessions wherein issues on environmental sustainability will be tackled,” CBM chairman Felix Taguiam said. Read more…

CBM 2010 to highlight “Green” campaign

To give boost to the growing advocacy to protect the environment, the upcoming Cebu Business Month 2010 chose to highlight the “Green” campaign among corporations and trade groups.

CBM, an annual month-long event to showcase Cebu’s business prowess is held every month of June, organized by Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI).

This year, the 19th CBM 2010 will adopt the “Get Inspired, Go Green” theme, as the organization encourages the adoption of greening the environment to address concerns on the adverse impact of climate change towards sustainable economic advancement. Continue reading…

CCCI and tourism stakeholders work on new tour packages

The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) Tourism committee will work with different private and government sector groups to come up with exciting tourism products in the province that will maximize the un-explored destinations in Cebu.

CCCI Tourism committee chairperson Milagros Espina announced that her group will conduct a “brainstorming” session with the Department of Tourism (DOT), Cebu Association of Tourism Operators (CATO), Local Government Units (LGUs), and the Cebu Association of Tour Guides (CAT-G), to develop a new face of travel packages to tourists, exploring undiscovered yet interesting sights in the province.

This is the main thrust of the upcoming “Tourism Summit” that will be held in June this year, as part of the Cebu Business Month (CBM 2009) event. Continue…
