4th DanceSport sa Sugbu opens
Cebu will once again have the dancesport spotlight shone on it as it hosts the 4th DanceSport sa Sugbu and 2009 Cebu IDSF World DanceSport Open Latin and Standard today at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino Grand Ballroom.
The city, along with its venerable Dancesport-Team Cebu City (DTCC) organization headed by director Edward Hayco, took center stage just recently after it grabbed he Guinness World Record for “Biggest Dance Class.”
Now, they will be looking to live up more to their reputation as the “Dancesport Capital of the World” with an event that has attracted over 3,000 athletes representing 14 countries, which will battle it out for the titles as they sway and sashay in the Latin and Standard disciplines including the dances Chachacha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Doble, Jive, Slow Waltz, Tango, Vienese Waltz, Foxtrot and Quickstep.
