This is still a draft, and will be finalized. It will be discussed further, but this is just a heads up. This is a blogging contest for employees of Ng Khai Group only who register in the www.ngkhai.net/cebu.

This is a little bit outside your scope of work, so please don’t do this on office hours (grin)…

Contest Duration: august 11, to 22, 2005

Goal:
a.) to increase the interaction and traffic of www.cebu.ngkhai.net Blogging is not only posting something for people to read. It is for people to interact. There is a focus to posting something that will enhance ‘conversations’ and thus accomplish our goal of getting feedback.

b.) to get more exposure in communications interaction. The main thing is to know how to post a message that will get attention, gain ideas on how people react to news.

Prize:
Prize will be awarded for the most comments in a single post.

first prize : Apple IPOD shuffle 1 gig
second prize: thumb drive 256mb
third prize: mp3 player
fourth prize: thumb drive 128 mb
fifth prize: optical mouse

6th to 10th prize: ( still to be finalized) — jackets, shirts, umbrellas, etc.

How:
a.) Any employee can register at www.ngkhai.net/cebu and post any of their experiences in Cebu under the appropriate category. The person who gets the most comments or feedback is the winner.

b.) what is a comment:

A comment is a feedback ( either a comment made, or a link made). If a customer feels that it is good enough that he will write in his own website a link to your article, that is also considered a comment, and will show up in the statistics. the statistics can be seen in http://www.ngkhai.net/cebu/wp-stats.php

c.) here are some guidelines of what is a qualified comment:

- the commenter should have a verifiable email address.
- the comment should at least be 10 words. ( 10 words or less like wow!, great! don’t count)
- the same commenter cannot have the same person in the next comment.
- the comment if subsequent should be a comment that will try to ‘converse’ or a reaction to a previous comment.
- the same commenter ( with the same address) counts only maximum 5 comments per post even in reaction or conversation to a previous comment.
- you as an author may respond to comments,but the maximum counted for your own comments is 1.

Please note that the goal of cebu Ceblog is to publish the good news about Cebu. So the post has to be positive, non-controversial, and it should not involve politics.

Hint: try to think how to post a note that will engender comment or make people want to link to it. MOreover, the most number of comments will come in when people try to argue or present different facets of an issue. In this case, it is always better to have more graphics than words also.

The judges will be Wilson, Melanie, Precy , Moneette? and Rosedale? ( we are holding it for Raymond and Jorge not to let them judge because I know they want to participate (grin)….
