In this day, as prices of commodities goes high, expenses here and there, people struggles everyday to meet their needs, a simple thing such as going out with their family to have some quality time seems could be impossible and its a luxury for some already. It is quiet lucky for other people to treat their families in a descent restaurant but for the ordinary, spending their P500 in a fast food chain restaurant is already an indulgence.

But thanks to those who invented the concept of parks, where all one needs is the company of a loved one, and perhaps a bite or two to eat and something to drink. Parks arent just for lovers though. Its a very suitable venue for people of all ages: children and their parents, the young, and the young at heart. More…<o :p></o>

Another famous park here in the province Cebu is under the Marcelo Fernan bridge or commonly called by the locals as the new bridge. The park is open to the public 24/7 and people strolling or dating with their loved ones dont really need to spend anything. <o :p></o>

I had this chance to visit one day at the park and people are not just dating, eating, playing, hugging but also SWIMMING? (Please look closely at the pic) Yes,you read it right. I dont know how safe it is there to swim but people in the neighborhood are fond of swimming under the bridge. Its funny also when a passenger boat or a ferry passes under the bridge as there this big wave of the sea that would excite the swimmers.<o :p></o>

<o :p> </o>

At least its free and its less expensive than malling or bar hopping. Not just that, its more relaxing in atmosphere than those people prefer to hangout with their friends in bars or malls.<o :p></o>

<o :p> </o>

Even tourists and passengers from a ferry boat that would cross under the Marcelo Fernan Bridgewould not pass to take a pose on it <o :p></o>

<o :p> </o>

The weather is quiet cloudy and I was expecting to rain last Saturday afternoon. When I left home, the rain had just started to fall and my friends decided to visit Liloan’s lighthouse. I’ve heard this place a couple of times from my berks and to some fella photographers. As a matter of fact, this is one of the favorite shooting locations for most of them. And to note, Lilo-an’s lighthouse had won several grand prize entry to photography contests like Petron.

According to Wiki, Liloan’s Parola(lighthouse) is one of the best known landmarks in Lilo-an located at Bagacay Point. The original lighthouse was built in 1857 by the Spanish. However, the current tower was constructed in 1904 by order of William Howard Taft, the first Governor-General of the Philippines and later the President of the United States. The tower is 72 feet tall and remains in active use today.

Since everyone of us were first timers, we lost our way getting to the lighthouse. When we reached at the corner of municipal plaza, we asked one lady and she told us to go straight right after the bridge. We did so. We’re almost 10 minutes travelling far from the corner of the plaza and we haven’t found yet the landmark. We went back and ask another guy and this time he guided us going there. Thanks to this man as without him we might going to nowhere.

Well take note, the lady who instructed us how to get there was right but she also forgot to tell us that we will take a left turn when we reached or have seen the Amara signage perhaps 1 or 2 minutes away right after the bridge(there’s only 1 bridge). Amara is a private village near the lighthouse. You don’t need to get inside the village because the lighthouse is far straight at Amara’s entrance.

I didn’t noticed that the rain already stopped and the sun came out. It’s a breath taking experience also when it’s your first time, right? I really wanted to capture the lighthouse with drops of rain or that leaves of the trees falling from strong winds. I was assuming then it would give me a nice effect. But i think, my expectations were not meant to be and we ended taking photos of ourselves and the 72-feet tower. Upon reaching the landmark, we saw a group of photographers, lovers, friends and families having their picnic. Dusk is coming and it’s time to go home.

Jill Watt, a 25-year-old Cebuana, is the location scout that Bigfoot Entertainment has turned to for its latest feature, Tears From Afar. The film follows the story of a young Vietnamese woman who weds an American man with the expectation that he will send money to her family
in rural Vietnam, but his intentions for her are quite different and she becomes his captive. Bigfoot employs over 50 Filipinos on its production team and Watt’s role is to find the right house, hotel or
scenic backdrop for each scene outside of the studios. Read the rest of this entry…
